Gonna upgrade my cam chest on my 06 Ultra and figure i might as well toss in some new cams while i'm in there. Not looking for anything crazy. Its my touring bike and thats what i use it for. I would prefer some good useable torque preferably strongest where i spend most of my time (2500-3500). Thanks in advance guys.

 

Andrews makes the 48 cams and conversion kit for your 88. Your later heads can use the extra lift and the 48 is proven low-mid cam. But I would go with gears in an 88 instead of chain conversion.

 

Whatever grind you want, I would go with the Andrews conversion cams. They will allow the use of stock Harley 96" oil pump, cam plate, and upgraded tensioners and chains. They do this by keeping the case bearing end the smaller diameter of the 88 and making cam plate end compatible with the later parts.

Which grind? Plenty of good ideas in the forum. Just don't have any experience with them myself.

 

Andrews 26 or the 48 for a conversion cam.

 

SE 203 with a Good tuning device and a competent tuner for the device chosen.
