Considering shocks for my Ultra also. Probably going to end up springing the couple hundred extra for the ohlins just because there seems no doubt that they get it done. You never seem to hear anyone say that they didn't work out. It does seem like they are priced high compared to similar technology for car shocks. I agree with that it does seem like an overly complicated process, but once you get it dialed in, if it works as flawlessly as it sounds, I guess it's worth it. I gotta say, when I bought my Ultra I figured I was buying the 'Cadillac'. In most ways it is, I do love it. But for a Cadillac ( and a Cadillac price!) the suppression sux. I weigh 220, the OL a buck 15. With minimal cargo and 50 psi in the shocks it shouldn't bottom out as easily as it does. I realize that the limited travel of the swingarm is an issue, but the shocks should be designed accordingly. When you spend the bucks for an premium touring bike you shouldn't have to spend a grand more for suspension that works under normal riding conditions. IMO

I put the 944's on this summer and the front fork kit from progressive, the wife is mad that I waited 9 years to do it, my buddy has the HD premiums on his after him and his wife rode mine he is trying to justify the cost to change a set of 3 year old shocks. The HD's do ride a lot better than stock so either way it is a big improvement over stock

Default Progressive 944

I have had Works trackers on my other bikes, 2000 Road King and 07 V Rod and was very happy with them but they are not cheap either (800.00) so I thought I would give the Progressive 944s a try at 530.00 from Eastern for my 13 FLHX 120r, I was quite dissapointed with the ride at first, (these are the standard spring and I'm 220 lbs) however after a 1200 mile break in, they have became a real improvment over the stock air shocks and I'm happy with them now.

I put the 944s in my bike a couple weeks back and am very happy with the ride.

I went with the std. springs (I weigh 170 lbs). I was also able to find a happy medium on the preset so when the wife rides with me (125 lbs) I don't need to adjust the shocks; she noticed a big difference especially on the sharp bumps.

$525 well spent!

I have the 944's on my RGC and couldn't be any happier. I ride solo and two up and on occasion pull a trailer. Nice ride with all.

I am 6' and 230lb the wife is 5'4 and 160 most of our riding is 2 up, I went with the HD springs, just me on and I set them at 2 1/2 turns for the proper sag, with wife 3 1/2 turns and fully loaded on vacation I go 4 1/2 turns. If you go to there web site it has a chart with what spring to go with
