Default Cam Service Gasket Kit

I am pretty sure I know the answer but I just have to hear it for myself. I will be doing cam up grade very soon I have found a $60- $65 difference in the cam service gasket kit prices. Other than the Harley name on their gasket kit I assume there is no difference in the quality between Harley's and the others on the market.

You need 3 o-rings and a cam chest cover gasket....plus 2 inner cam bearings.....everything else is overkill....price them out separately and it will be cheaper then $60.....even if you buy them at a HD dealer.

Still more then the price of what's really needed for the install but it's your money. I did two cams jobs on my bike within two months so I have some knowledge on what's needed. You have a cam removal & install tool? If not, PM me regarding a rental and I also have two new inner cam bearings if your interested.

Going through the top or using adjustable pushrods? Need pushrod tube o-rings unless you have pushrod kit. Need gaskets up top if going through the top.

I got lucky when I replaced the tensioner shoes on my old 2004, I reused the cam cover and rocker box gaskets, no leaks at all.

Give FuelMoto a call. I did my cam swap last year and found them to have the best prices. Quality was top notch as well.

I guess I will try and actually answer your question. Aftermarket gaskets are just as good as HD and many times actually better. James, cosmetic and others make gaskets.

I really like Jame's gaskets. I like them better than the factory stuff and it costs less.
