No need to worry about the inside of the muffler rusting because its quickly covered in exhaust soot. But for the insanely ****, you could wipe it out, and spray black high temp exhaust paint in it. I did however clear the edges of the chrome where I cut and sculpted the muffler body. As you can imagine how fast they would rust. But IMHO, stock cigar mufflers are NOT the best looking, and shaping them to more match the downward angle of the saddlebags was more to my taste. But as anyone who has done this simple mod can attest, cored stock cigars, with the converter intact are truly great sounding mufflers.
