On another video I have seen demonstrated how easily and quickly a bike can be stolen by lifting it into a refrigeration truck and shut in - where it's alarm can't be heard.

Yes, I lock my ignition switch!

Why would someone steal just that part? If I had one, I would lock it when afraid for the bike, but I wouldn't worry about it to protect the lock itself

On my 2010 FLHX you need the key to be able to remove the switch. That said, I lock mine when leaving unattended, just so some idiot can't turn the lights own and kill my battery.

well, if someone steals the stem...a screwdriver or squashed 1/4 copper tubing will at least get you home.

moral of the story is lock your stuff- always.

remember the saddlebags are locked when the indicator faces forward- a quick visual check ( and i have posted the crown bolt numbers previously if you want to replace the stock pins).

and if you have an alarm, set and know your pin.

Will some else's ignition stem - placed in your's thats taken out - work (turn), ?

& will the built in computer security / fob still prevent theft ?
