Please steal my bike....

I have it insured to the hilt, why does everyone else get lucky?

It's the only way I will ever get back near the money I have sunk into it.

Then I could start all over again!

not sure about the newer bikes with the key flob but have hear that on the older bikes a good pair of channel locks and a good twist will do away with that lock , plus remember a thief don't care if he hurts your bike , I keep mine locked though , it makes me feel better

the stem is the same, the difference is in the barrel lock up top. so if you take someone elses ignition stem and put it in your bike, you have just effectively changed your lock. thats all.

and yes, the security will still work. in fact, if you have the siren, it will be screaming the whole time the person is trying to steal your stem. it takes quite a bump to activate the alarm, but turn the ignition and it freaks. course, if you don't have a siren, the lights will blink angrily at you

Clear and Concise ! Well Said !

sad MoCo does NOT include the siren with the alarm option on the non- CVO bikes ... Right ?

Juvenile vandals who just like to wreak havoc. Right up there beside ripping hood emblems off and dropping them to the ground.

I just had that part out yesterday on my 08 Electra Glide Ultra. The service manual says you need to have your key in the ignition in order to remove it. I tried removing it without the key in and it wouldn't come out. With the key in it came out easily. It also needed the key in it to go back in.

I'm not sure why yours came out without the key in it.

Same on my 06 - need the key in to release the button.

Watch the hoodlems take parts off your bike. Never lost a water bottle or helmet, but I got fancy and put the trunk lock cover on. The little swivel cover makes a nice "challenge coin" for some a$$wipe.

Damn, I haven't seen a hood emblem in 25 years! But I remember punks stealing them.
