Check out the UClear Force model 200. It syncs up with an iPhone (and likely other phones) so perhaps it can sync with the Infotainment system. Reasonable prices too. Check Amazon

sync is not a problem with infotainment. The problem is with two way speech. Without a corded mic, no voice input. IOW, you cannot answer your phone without a cord ( afaik).

I think Harley needs to avoid a lawsuit since most of us left the dealer thinking we could use BT two ways without corded mics..
Att lawyers!

This has been beaten to death in several other threads on the subject. You're not to win a lawsuit against Harley because you wrongly assumed Bluetooth technology can do something that it currently can not.

There are no Bluetooth profiles in existence to do simultaneous HFP to a phone, stereo A2DP to a streaming device AND two way microphone/ headset communication to a voice controlled vehicle Infotainment System and CB radio. Not going to happen with current technology. No vehicle system (bike or car) does this.

Experts in the manufacture and sales of wired and wireless systems have spoken up on this and other threads on the subject.

So that fact that Harley couldn't do something that NO ONE else has been able to do on their first outing, you're going to sue? Good luck with that.

Plug the wired headset (included) in and use the system as it was designed.

I have no problems with another bluetooth transmitter/receiver that plugs into the 7 pin, problem solved... I'm quite aware that the radio's bluetooth cannot do it.

By the way, I clicked through to the Spoiled Biker Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the headset jack. Here's their description of the item:

Spoiled Biker is proud to introduce the only wireless 2-way connection to your Harley Davidson intercom. This device plugs directly into your Harley intercom port and can then be paired to the Bluetooth headset of your choice. Full 2-way communication through your Harley's audio system is then available.

Stereo mode is also available however the dongle must be accessed and the button pushed to switch from 2-way communication to stereo mode. FREE SHIPPING!!
Now why do you suppose you have to mess with the dongle and press a button to switch from mono-with-active-mic to stereo-with-no-mic and back?

Because offthewall is correct, is why. There is not a profile that handles both stereo audio and the mic signal. Buy Spoiled Biker's bluetooth adapter, and live with the CORDED adapter AND BUTTON, or use a headset with the cord and NO button. Those appear to be your only choices right now.

Here is a post I put up a few weeks ago about this subject. Just for your viewing pleasure. BTW The HD catalog does say the Boom 6.5 GT radio works wirelessly via Bluetooth to headsets, page 598. Lie, it does not.

"Does anyone else feel that Harley was deceptive in it's sales pitch of the new 6.5" Infotainment radio communicating using Bluetooth?

In the infotainment section of the HD website an FAQ asks if you can connect two phones at once the new radio. The answer they give is as follows:

"Yes, multiple Bluetooth devices can be paired with the radio but only one can be actively in use for either phone or streaming audio functions. For example, one device could be active for making phone calls and another active for streaming audio."

The Commercial HD has been playing on TV shows a rider ignoring an incoming call displayed on the Radio, such that you could actually answer it.
The company touted the Bluetooth connectivity yet it's only good to play music. What a deception!!!!

What they, HD, never says in any of there adds or FAQ's is that you need to install on the FLHXS is a hard wired headset to do any voice commands or answer the Phone. This should have been stated at the start or come with the bike."

Your statement isn't correct. Bluetooth is used to make the connection from the phone to the Infotainment system using the HFP profile. Bluetooth is what makes it possible to see that incoming phone call, to reference the address book in your phone so you know it's the boss calling AND allow you to answer and complete that call. What bluetooth cannot do at the same time is connect to a second device to allow you to make a wireless speaker/microphone connection and then relay that information between the phone and the wireless mic/speaker. That second connection has to be a hard-wired connection to a microphone/speaker/headset. There is no current way to accomplish this over Bluetooth.

Bluetooth can also be used to stream music at the same time from the same device over Bluetooth using the A2DP profile. The system can also simultaneously play music over USB from the same or different device.

The commercial clearly shows the rider is on an Ultra or a Limited NOT a SG. I agree with you that the system should not have been offered at all on a SG since there is no wired headset capability on a SG. BUT since they do offer the 6.5 on a SG, you CAN buy the J&M (or the Harley) kit and have full functionality as does the Ultra and the Limited. It's just a cost option in the case of a SG.

I wouldn't argue that that statement is confusing. I can only assume that they literally mean HEADSETS not a microphone/headset, such as wireless bluetooth stereo headphones. Or the marketing guy who wrote it had his head up his *** since we know the system can't connect to a wireless headset / mic and phone at the same time.
