Default Handlebar Adjustment

I have a 13 Ultra and want to adjust the bars back by about 1 inch. I was reading the manual and to accomplish I have to remove the ignition switch. It shows a special tool as well as another to remove the electrical connector.

Do I have to have the special tool to accomplish this? Can that bezel be removed so I can gain access to the screws without removing the entire ignition assembly with only removing the ignition ****?

No, not unless you mess up the tumbler positions when removing the switch. Even then it can be done with a screwdriver or something. I just pulled my switch today and installed it in seconds flat without messing up the alignment. You need to pull the switch and pull the housing that holds the switches.

Thanks. Just so I do not do it, how would one mess up the tumbler position? Also, how did you use a screwdriver?

May want to give YouTube a visit. That's how I learned, and actually once I had my head wrapped around removing the ignition it is pretty easily done.

Good luck.

There's a video on here on how to make a tool out of copper tubing, also there's a guy on here that makes a real nice tool out of aluminum it runs about $20.00 . That's what I bought and I've never been sorry well spent twenty bucks it will allow you to turn your front wheels and even star the bike if so desired. If you turn your bars without the tool the tumblers will get off location than you'll have to put a small screwdriver down the ignition and realign them. Some guys just use the screwdriver method but I prefer the proper tools.

I bought that aluminum tool also and it works great and have used it a bunch of times. Let us know how you make out. I was thinking of doing the same thing
