Looks great! If I was doing it again, I would probably go higher.

It looks like your bars are forward leaning. couldnt you have pulled them back a few inches and kept your windshield intact?
I could have, but I would lose my "old Skool" look. Anyway, I have long arms and this was the most comfortable position for me.

Thanks to all for the compliments. This is, by far, the biggest job I have done. I rode about 75 miles after work yesterday and they felt great...They felt better the longer I rode, seemed like I got more attention from passers-by, also. I am also glad to say that everything that worked before the job still worked and nothing fell off the bike.

Very cool. I DO like the look for sure. I just shudder at the thought of trying to cut on my windshield!

Never had my hands go to sleep. 6'-9" here If anyone wants to see 16" apes on a streetglide or batwing fairing type bike, let me know and I will toss on my fairing and snap some pics for you.
I wouldn't mind see this! Could you snap a pic some time and post it here?

Thanks,

Hey Para, don't think I didn't have some second thoughts the whole time I was running that roto-zip through that plexiglass. I just said screw-it and finished what I had started. I am, however, going to take it to my local glass shop and let them clean-up the edge. I just don't have the tools to do it right. I got windshield idea from a bikernet article on the tech forum. It works just as good as it did before I cut it. I have to have my windshield for long rides.

You really don't need to take it to a glass company, just use FINE 320 Grid sand paper to polish up the edges to match up the original factory look. Look in the DIY section here in the forum and it will take you through step by step on how to trim down you windshield. It's very easy I did mine and you would never know I did it, the cut looks like the factory cut.
