Default changes to HD LED headights

I read that the low beam on the HD Daymaker 7" headlight now stays on when the high beam is turned on. That's a change from the earlier LED headlight where the low beam is off when the high beam is on. Yet the part number in the 2014 HD parts catalog is the same. Anyone know if you can modify or update the older headlight to work like the newer version?
Asked my dealer but they were clueless.

I looked at a 2014 Limited 3 days ago at my dealer. The 7" LED headlight the low beam goes off when the high beam is on.

On a friends RG with the HD LEDs the 5" lights the low beam stays on with the high beam.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing, how to keep the low on all the time.

Are you talking about the one that just came out that looks like the one from Kurakyn? http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...11-67700189--1
That one lights up the bottom when the high beam is on, but the low beam on top stays lit as well.

The new Harley daymaker look like the truck light phase 7's.
Low beam is on the top of the light , and high beam is on the bottom but like mentioned the low beam on the top of the light stays on.

That's the one. I'd like to see a side by side comparison at night. I like the looks of the new one better since it has a more traditional appearance when it's off. I also like the $100 price difference. Does it stick out like the Kuryakyn one requiring a different trim ring? If that's the case, I'm not sure it would work with the way the new fairing "brow" extends a bit over the top of the headlight.

That is the same way the Kuryakyn/Truck Light Phase 7 lights work. Low beam stays on when the high beam is turned on.

Save some money and get the Trucklite. It is the same thing branded for HD for over $200 more. You get a better warranty from Trucklite too. The only advantage I can see to getting the HD one is if you absolutely have to have that little light up bar and shield in the middle. But is that worth $200+????

msg back from JW Speaker.

Dave,

Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry, but this lamp is not designed to have the high and low beams on at the same time.

Thank you,
Tara Henke
