I use saddle soap usually. I bought the Harley leather protector last round and think it is over priced. I will use saddle soap again when run out of the HD stuff. Any shoe store will carry leather cleaner, water proofer and conditioner. I use all three between my boots, jacket, vest and saddle bags.
I use, nefords oil on new boots an leather, oil it up good let sit over nite, oil the next day then break it in, ive bin using this oil for almost 40 yrs, oil my leather once a year, this oil was made for saddels, most horse riders use it. good stuff bud
Neats foot oil will soften leather, but it will break down the fibers . Wear the garment as much as you can in different weather conditions an use Lexol/. Wearing it in the rain is good, but let it dry slowly and keep away frm heat.
Wear it and ride. 3 major rainstorms broke mine in good.
Best answer so far. I have jackets that are 30 years old and have never had any of the above stuff put on them. They are soft and not dried out one bit. But then again good leather is just that and it will last a life time with nothing more them wiping the bugs off with a damp towel.
