Default MP3 players

I'm looking at hooking my ipod up to my stereo and was wondering how or if anyone else did it. Do you just have it going to the aux jack on the front of the radio or do you have it set up with a FM transmitter? I was hopping there were some rca input jacks on the back of the radio so I could just wire it directly to there without having a wire on the outside but alas there are not. I am thinking of wiring up a multi outlet 12v power source in the tourpack to supply power to the ipod/fm transmiter and cell phone so I don't have to worry about batteries and it will be secure and out of the weather. Then add a wireless remote to the ipod so I can skip songs/pause and such.

I have an Ipod too and am wondering the same thing. Where are you mounting the ipod and how?

Not sure about the iPod, I have an iRiver that I do plug into the Aux. I was thinking about the HD MP3 player, saw one on a bike that was factory installed (according to the owner) and even this had the wire from the MP3 plugged into the aux. Apparently the engineers didn't put any way of attaching a device from under the hood if you will.

I have the hd unit but if you have an ipod there is an alternative. They make a fm modulator that plugs on top where the earplugs go. It works well.

The ipod does go into the aux. Sometimes the fidelity is less than what it should be. I switched to a Sony 5710 which has an MP3 player in it. You can download mp3's onto a CD format. I put about 100 songs on one CD. Works great and the fidelity is over the top.

But with stock radio, it's ipod velcro'd on or in the compartment and a line into the aux.
