I have no knowledge of the technical or electronics of this, only a simple aspect of what something should do or shouldn't do. Would this additional channel be in the form of a "hardware" addition or a simple software update?

 

My friend who has a 2014 Limited was told that the HD radio will only play songs that are on the Iphone and answer and make calls. He wanted to use some other apps he has such as XM ap, tune in radio ap for talk radio etc but the Harley radio only works with the music thats actually on the phone so now he has to buy the Harley XM radio modual to here his XM. Such BS. How Harley figured out how to do this is ingenious ! You still gotta buy stuff from them to use your radio. No aps on the phone work thru the new radio, at least we cant get them to and the dealer told us that they wont

 

Been tryin to get music to the G4 Scala but can't figure it out. Cardo has not been any help. How can these things not be plug n play on new bikes?!

 

I can stream Pandora, iHeart & Spotify without problem. What I found is to first ensure the BT is linked which when is connected will automatically play installed music on my iPhone, but once playing I switch to whatever app I feel like using and it streams perfectly fine into Infotainment Center.

 

Thanks Lou. I'm going to tell him to try that. Now I wonder if he can use the XM app on his phone? This way he doesnt have to spend $300 bucks to buy the Harley XM module which by the way is on national backorder till Sept 20th
