As far as my experience, I have worked with Ohlins products since the early 90's and have known the president of Ohlins USA for many years. I also personally used their products extensively during the years was roadracing before I started Fuel Moto, I raced thru the 90's and held an AMA Pro license from 1994-2000, after that time I continued to use and service their products in a wide range of applications. Now that Ohlins has a full line of HD products, I simply made the decision to carry the product line.
Where did I get my info , well on here , but I'm sure that thread is gone or lost now , they always are . You posted when you bought them and you couldn't get them dialed in and stated you were going to change them out . I'm glad you are familar with Ohlins , however I too held a pro license for over 12 years and was sponsored my Suzuki and later Yamaha , I ran Ohlins on all my bikes but that does not make me a suspension expert , I would give feedback to my mechanic and they would adjust my suspension , I never took one apart , Phat Performance a forum sponsor also nows sells Ohlins but I do not consider them a suspension expert either

Pretty bold statement. I called and had a great conversation with Jamie about the new Ohlin product line. He answered all of my questions with a great deal of experience and knowledge. He also offers a great price on these new factory shocks. I have never had an issue with support from the guys at Fuel Moto. I trust their expertise, and do not see that changing.
first I did not compare them to what Howard does , these are a 41mm drop in kit so you can only compare them to Traxxiom Dynamics or Progressive Monotubes neither of which has compression on one leg and rebound on the other , secondly they don't address the full problem 41mm forks are to flimsy and the triple trees allow to much flex , the 2014's are 49mm tubes and a correct triple tree so cartridges in them is smart , if you are not going to address the complete front end issues on 2013 and older models the Progressive monotubes are then the best value. And it is not a bold statement on Jamie , I never said he would not support you , I think he will to the best of his ability , but I do question how well of a shock expert he is

Thank you for your admission of ignorance on this topic and the aggressive thread hijacking.

Back to my original post: anyone planning on, or thinking of, trying these cartridges out when they are released in January? Anyone not happy with their progressive monotubes?

Well i know Ohlins set-up will be excellent, i have the 3-3's on the back of my street glide. I couldn't wait for Ohlins to come out with this kit so i went with the Traxxion Ak-20's. http://www.traxxion.com/AK-20AxxionC...-Davidson.aspx . Im sure Ohlins will work just as good. Once you have the front and rear dialed in its amazing how well the bike behaves. Once these come out guys..dont hesitate to get them. It will make a hugeeee difference

These are impressive looking kits, Marc. Any particular reason you went with these over the Progressive Monotubes at $1000 less?

Unless they are competitively price with the Progressive Monotubes, I'll wait on Progressive to come out with something for the 49mm forks.

Traxxion's AK-2Os are the best out there currently , I was going to go with them on my bike and spoke to Max the owner several times , Max suggested I go to the CVO Forum and read reviews which I did , everyone on the CVO Forum that used them loved them , however most all went from stock to the AK-20s so that was there comparison , there were 6 members that went from stock to Progressive Monotubes to AK-20s , all 6 independently stated the AK-20s were the best but the monotubes were close enough that the price difference wasn't justified and if they did it again they would stick with monotubes , go to the cvoharley forum and search and read for yourself , it was good reading

If it wasn’t for the fact that I currently have the front end apart for another project and am wanting to wrap everything up now I would definitely give these a shot. Have the 3-3's on the rear and love them. At this point it appears I am going wit the Ricors, modified by fabrik8r, and a set of traxxion springs. Anything has got to be better than stock, especially since I have 45k miles on them in the last few years and am sure they have degraded.

Dude, I know what you are doing here but i'm not taking the bait. This is not the first time you have talked about the magic disappearing Fuel Moto threads, my words of advice are to contact the moderators or powers that be on this forum if you truly feel this is the case.

First thing, if I cant get something to work I would never come to a forum and post about it. This certainly is not the case with Ohlins shocks, they are on the bike I ride every day. Show me a post where I "couldn't get them dialed in and stated you were going to change them out", we know you or some else is just made that up.

As far as my experience, I never came here an claimed to know everything and anything about suspension, however you made claim without knowing me personally or my background technically. And also did you every think that there may be other techs here at Fuel Moto with experience in this area? (well....there are) Regardless, over the years I have rebuilt, revalved, and serviced hundreds of shocks and forks. Everything from Ohlins, to Fox, Showa, Penske, KYB, and others. Oh yeah..., I worked a bunch with Max from Traxxion Dynamics and used quite a few of his valving kits and fork springs. Very nice guy with a great product line.
