Today I had my bike on the lift and was cleaning the wheels. As I was turning the front wheel I could feel and hear the wheel turning as if there was some slight resistance. I could not tell if it was the brake disc making slight contact or if it was the wheel bearing making a noise. When I am riding I sort of feel a vibration as I am going into a curve then it goes away as I straighten out. Checked for play in the wheel but there was none. Rubbed the bearing with my finger and a little grease came off on my finger (that could be normal). Bike has 10,500 miles. Any thoughts?
pull your calipers off and spin your wheel, if you are feeling anything strange replace the bearings. this is your life going down the road on these junk bearings. mine failed at 2500 miles. leaking grease is a sure sign they are going bad.
harley was advertising these bearing as 100,000 mile bearing. class action lawsuit is in order here, they should be made to replace or redesign these things until the problem is taken care of,instead of just throwing the consumer under the bus.
