Default Radio Problem

My radio is dying on and off. Doesn't matter what station it's on. Never know when it's going to do it. Sound will be off for a second or two then it comes back on. It way do that often or it may only do every hour or so. Anyone heard of this? It's under warranty so I'll be calling the dealer anyways.

What year is your bike? I had this issue with my 08. If your bike is under warranty make the call to the dealer. It is a very common issue. More than likely your radio has suffered vibration damage. The dealer will replace if under warranty along with the fairing bracket(s) that are also probably broken. For me it was out of warranty so it was a $250 fix for the radio through Iron Cross Audio.

Sounds like the radio gremlin. known issue with the Harmon Kardon radios. You probably have a broken fairing mount as well.

FYI: Dealers going to install a refurbished unit. After the warranty is up you can send to Iron Cross Audio in NJ.
