The cooling system is new, so subject to glitches (never buy the first year). The radio, well maybe like autos, they put in low budget figuring your going to upgrade it anyway.

My ultra had a council worker's clock. It was always slow. I know it was a HK set but, HD decided to put that kind of questionable quality on their bikes.
What I find absolutely astounding is that even my new £30k CVO still has cheap hose clips for the heat shields and crappy budget cable ties in full view.
I love my Harley but, some of the components are what you expect on cheap Chinese goods not on expensive Harley Davidson motorcycles.

An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket.

The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do ANYTHING you want."

Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.

Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess and that I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"

The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that's cool."

Most engineers I know want you to know that they are Enginners because they weren't smart or dedicated enough to become Dr or Lawyers and therefore insecure. Also everyone of them, let's say 5 that I know pretty well have taken up other careers after 7-15 yrs of dissalusiment and failure at life.
And that's from a 52 yr old retired self made rich guy with only a HS equivenlency.

Some people may consider the OP's personality to be an example of Asperger's Syndrome. Personally, I think the poor social awareness to be an inherent part of giftedness. You have to take the good with the bad.

In my 35 years as a Telephone Technician I have found my company will give an Engineer Title to just about anyone.

Military and aerospace engineer? I've used that title several times when someone asked why i was in the break room making paper airplanes or using a bic pen to carrier launch flies off the table .
since I dont use the clock to do standard rate turns or ILS approaches a few minutes off on a motorcycle is close enough.
I shudder to think of the movie Easy Rider if instead of throwing his watch away Peter Fonda took some of his cash and was riding to jewelry shops pricing a Rolex.
Whats the obsession with exact time?

One person says the glass is half empty, another will say the glass is half full, an engineer will say that there is too much glass.

So true, and the engineer's supervisor also takes benefit of this for his own promotion.

Pretty bold statement. I am not an engineer, but it seems you have a rather strong dislike of their profession.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree with your assumptions. I do not believe that anyone who doesn't become a Dr. or Lawyer has settled for a lesser job. I know many people who are smart enough and dedicated enough to be a Dr. or lawyer, yet choose another profession. They are not insecure because of their choices.

I applaud everyone, including you, who uses their talents to be successful in their chosen career, what ever it is. Nuclear Physicist or ditch digger, do it well and you're OK in my book.....
