Yup. I'm thinking IAC too.
The troubleshooting guide in the ELECTRICAL Diagnostic Manual states that TPS failure results in "No Combustion."
This thing is definitely running like a cat with its tail on fire! No combustion issues here. lol
Looks like a pretty straightforward swap. I ordered the part from GCHD.
Any other advice before I get started?

Well, the TP Switch went on today but the bike still has REALLY HIGH idle, over 3K RPM.
(Fits over an extension of the butterfly shaft, like installing a **** on the kitchen stove)
So I cleaned throttle body, cleaned AIC, perform wiggle tests, unplug connector 87, etc.
I cycled the key switch 5 times w/ WOT to check for leaky injectors. Still scary high idle.
So now I'm stuck waiting for the new IAC kit to arrive from the MOCO, then UPS to me.
Is there another test; cycling the turn signals or the odometer reset button?
Anyhow, I'm just glad the Shovelhead is running. (B-D)>

Well, the TPS didn't fix it, and now...neither did a new AIC kit.
This bike still idles at over 3K RPM and I'm unsure of where to look next.
I performed the Speedometer Self Test (hold the odometer and turn on the ignition)
That did not help either. So, 2 new parts and 2 "reset" procedures, but the bike is still broke.
I'm still open to any suggestions, if anyone knows where I should go from here.
And please don't say "the dealer!"

I posted this a few yrs ago maybe its related .
bike went wide open throttle ie red lined upon start up, not fun coming of a highway ramp.
fix for me was the dealer(77$) came back on the forum and never could find what they did on here.
they said the original stock bike probly got so hot it loosened a screw on the throttle that was lock tight from factory and never ever loosens...they said had a special tool to put the screw back in...
Never could figure out exactly what they did. Some kind of idle position screw or such.
several home mechanics looked at it and we couldn't figure it out.
