Reverse on a Ultra or Limited model?

Reverse on a Ultra or Limited model?
I used to own a 2004 Ultra Classic, sold it a few years ago and currently own a Goldwing and would like to buy a newer Limited.
I was thinking it might be wiser to get a smaller bike and was going to keep the GW since I have a bad back and the reverse comes in handy and I couldn't get a reverse in the Ultra or Limited.
I did find that Champion and Motor Trike and a couple of others make reverse kits for the 5 and 6 speed transmission.
Has anyone used them other than in a trike?
It makes me nervous that it sounds like you can release the clutch, rev up the engine and the bike will back up at an unlimited speed.
Any ideas?

The GW uses the starter for reverse.
The Harley electric reverse on the trikes from Harley, I have not checked into, since I don't know anything about them.
The ones offered by Champion or Motor Trike are manual shifting. You put it in neutral, shift the reverse lever, then let the clutch out and slowly...slowly...slowly add power if needed.
It can be added to the existing bike with minor modifications.
Again, the electric reverse on the TriGlide would be nice. I will have to check into that again. The dealer has just told me it wasn't available, so I "***-U-MED" he knew it was not available to order to add to a Limited.

I've had my mechanic install a RG on my '06 Ultra and I like it a lot. There's nothing to be scared about:with the engine idling engage 1st than back to N and pull up the lever on the right side.Slowly release the clutch a little, no gas needed and the bike reverses. When done push the lever forward and you're good to go.Mine is a MDM and they're in Fla.,it can be installed in about 3 hrs by someone with average mechanical skills (not my case).
