Default Break-in information?

I just wanted to hear from some of the riders in the forum about break-in. I spoke to 2 different dealers and got pretty much 2 different responses, besides they both agree on the first 50 mile and then the next 450 miles, but they didn't agree on how to treat each mileage increment. One said first 50 miles keep it under 50mph and under 2500rpm while the other dealer said under 65mph and under 3000rpm. Just wanted to hear from the masses in the forum to see want people with some serious miles on their rides had to say.

If I remember right, my dealer told me under 50 for the first 50 miles and under 3500 rpm for the first 500. Hard to do

That is pretty much what my dealer had told me too, they added for the first 50 miles to keep it under 60mph and 3000rpm, but very similar and I've heard so many people say under 50 and really baby it for the first 50 miles. I'm about 100mph past the 50 so it's a bit late for that and might have gotten over 3500rpm once or twice since then, just wanted to hear what the masses had to say.

It is extremely interesting to hear all the different comments andthe article, fatboylust, is very interesting to say the least. It is like the two dealers I spoke to, two completely different bits of information.

There are links on this forum like the mototuneone fatboylust mentions that all suggest an aggressive break in.Made sense tome, so thats the way I broke in my new build.Bring engine to operating temp3rd gear at 30 mph, 100% tillreach 60 mph, then 0% back down to 30 mph, 100% again. Repeat about a dozen times. Go on about your regular riding and change oilat 50 miles with another petroleum oil and then change again at 500 with oil of choice. I'm gonna use synthetic then.
Quite a differencefrom MOCO.

I've had the high rpm method recommended by a few performance guys. They used to run the cars they built on the interstate for hours to break them in, with great results.
