Exclamation I did the V&H fuel pac thing and it went bad!

I was suckered in...I thought that the Vance and Hines fuel pac was all that you need for a Harley, with slipons, and an free flowing air filter...That WAS probably true. It worked pretty well for me in that capasity (sp) Untill I went to the coast. I had troubles there. My bike would hardly run. It did soon clear it self up... but it was dicy there for a few minuets.

They (Vance and Hines) sold me on the fact that they could dial in my cams also....Apparently they were wrong. After 8 calls to them to correct my problems...I still have rideabiltiy problems. In their defence... they did solve most of my troubles..Which made calling them easy..but toward the end... they were saying that it was the cam that I have, and the chaertoristics (sp) and they were at the end of their experience. My last problem was...leaning out on throtle at 2300 rpms at 65 mph in 6th gear, and trying to climb as hill and it backfiring and seeming to run on one cylinder. And that anytime I rolled on the throttle, in a higher gear, then it seemed to accellerate a little bit, and then the more throtle I rolled on then it would loose speed and start to spit and sputter. When I told them this ...they are at a loss...and aparently I am too.

I am looking for a thundermax if anyone has one to sell...

I my self wouldn't try running up a hill in 6th at 65 MPH.

I will go into 6th at 65 MPH on flat ground with no headwind.

I find the motor works better closer to 3000 rpms.

With engine work, you would probably be better off with a dyno tune. I didn't think V&H fuelpack had the versatility of other tuners when it came to anything other than the typical A/C and pipe change.

Call Fuelmoto and see if they can get you set with a tuner?

Fuel Paks are good for slip-ons and high flow filters. I ran one in the beginning, you could smell the richness through the pipes. It did work to some extent but will never take the place of a real tuner. Fuel Moto was buying back these things for $125 I believe in the past if you bought another tuner from them, maybe they still are....

I have never met anyone with a bike that has O2 sensors on it that tuned there bike properly with a fuelpack. I wouldn't think that the new cams would help matters any.
