50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water works as well as any commercial product, and it won't hurt your paint. Very inexpensive yet effective. Spray it and let it soak, wipe it and the bug guts off.

Wet a towel with hot water and drape it over the fairing allowing it to lay on the contours of the fairing for about 10-15 minutes. then remove towel and wipe bugs off with a microfiber and McGuires ultimate detail spray. Works for me every time. Also if you keep a good coat of wax on it they will not stick as bad

After you clean the bugs off, next time ride backwards and you will not have to clean them off again.

I learned the peroxide trick from this website and it works! I pour the bottle into a spray bottle add a little water (cleverly labeled bug wash). I spray it on the fairing, lowers, windshield and anywhere else the bugs splatter.

I walk into the house, get a beer and head back out with a clean microfiber towel. By that time the bugs are white and foaming. My bike is black so it swirls very easily. I make it a point to "pop" the towel every few wipes to get the bug guts off the towel.

Sometimes it takes a second spray, soak and beer to get all of the bugs off without using any pressure or rubbing. Rubbing is bad on black it'll swirl even with the softest of towels.

It doesn't strip the wax or stain anything. I don't rinse with clean water after, but I do spray detailing spray (bike spirits) to recoat the wax since I'm in clean mode anyway.

Works great on your car/truck too. Before I pull into the car wash I'll spray the grill, bumper, glass and mirrors.

when touring, I drop a towel with warm soapy water on the fairing while I set up camp, or load into hotel.

then go back and wipe off the softened goo.

coat of wax helps.

I do not use spray cleaners anymore, a popular cleaner screwed up a windscreen on me.

I used that popular all purpose cleaner on my lawnmower first, glad I did. It removed that lawnmower and left the grass stains.

I use mcguires spray and wash and a microfiber cloth. Try and do it at least every night when I stop. I think I will try the peroxide though as the mcguires is about 10 bucks a bottle.
