Are we getting robbed for a 2014.....
I was shocked to see how the value has sunk on our bikes due to the new 14's.
As stated by one dealer everything else is Irrelevant, trade in value Is at an all time low dealers want us to believe there is no market for older bikes.
He started by saying no one is coming through those doors to look at your 2012, every one want's a 2014, I won't be able to sell your bike at a profit and then he offers me 12k for my 2012 SG with 9000 miles and tons of upgrades.
I literally turned around and walked out, he chased me and said wait I can give you an extra 500.00 for your bike. Total 12.5 for my bike.

Lotta folks can't afford $22K for starters.
The new models are not, I repeat not time tested nor proven as of yet.
I don't think that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread just yet.
Was you looking to trade or?
They're new and a novelty. Many want one.
That alone drives up the price of the new ones.
I say you'd better hang on to your 12.
If the case is that you really want one, then you had better sell your's outright and belly up to the sales counter and pay what's being asked.
Many will.
Just remember, there's always something newer to come along.
Doesn't mean it's better.

I am fortunate where I can afford the the 23k for the new FLHXS, however I am very happy with my bike and I was looking at the new bikes to see what all the hype was about, I do like the new 14's but I'm not willing to get hosed.

IMO buying any new HD is a big rip-off at any dealer. Trading your almost new HD back to them is even worse. Now if your independently wealthy and money is not an issue, then go buy the next new bike every year and toot your horn as loud as you want. OH, BTW, I bet most HD riders today don't hold the title to their bikes, HD bank of America does. Not me, I gave in a long time ago on the pissing contest. Ride what you can afford and be Happy!

I just bought my 2013 FLHX this year and when I saw the 2014 I thought "damn everything I want is in that bike" than it hit me. Let everyone else test them out for a few years and enjoy mine because I have it built the way I want it now. They also advertise a new cam. Think I'll just throw the Thundermax and the Zippers 525 red shift cam in and be done with it. I say let someone else who wants a new bike be the test mules and those of us who are only a couple years old wait and see!!!

Wait til February when the hype dies down and sales are slow. Deals will be better then. Not good but better.
