I bought my 13 the second week of July and I'm fine with it. I got a huge deal on a new bike on something thats proven. Saturday I walked into a different dealer I was trying to deal on used bikes before a I bought new at the local dealer. They had all their used stuff marked way down compared to 5 weeks ago. I laughed cause if they had those prices in July I would have bought used.

The KBB trade-in value for his Street Glide is $16,210, assuming it has ABS and an alarm system. The KBB retail value is $18,335. Yes, dealers are taking advantage of a buying frenzy that is happening the first few weeks of a new model release. Give it about 5-6 months and see if the dealers come back to reality.

Default Are we getting robbed for a 2014?

The bad news is that the upgrades aren't "worth" anything to a "generic" buyer at the dealership (except when the dealer is selling it!), and 12.5K for a stock 2012 SG with only 10K miles is out of line. But in fact, ANYTHING is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you want to do the legwork to sell the bike yourself, you will very quickly find that the dealer in fact does earn the markup.

Just like anything else: If you have more money than time, go through the dealer. If you have more time than money, sell it yourself for a few bucks more.

was shocked to see how the value has sunk on our bikes due to the new 14's.
The value is almost the same as it was before the 2014's came out. The dealers just will use any excuse they can to get the most money out of you right now because of the excitement the new model's being out, they have plenty of floor traffic now.

By winter it will be over and they will be begging you to buy a new bike.

Don't base your statement on what one salesman told you at one dealership

I went and looked at the new 2014 bike this pass weekend, nice looking bikes. I just can't see one for me.

They are selling them.

I got an Email today from the dealership
Ride out on any 2013 @ MSRP. dealer pays taxes, prep, doc fees, freight.

Ya think they want room for the 2014 on the floor?

Dealers are in the game to make money, just like any business. So when we don't like what they offer, we let our wallets do the talking. Sounds like the OP spoke with his wallet - for now
