Yeah, I hear the same thing. I recently replaced the rear tire with the same stock Dunlop tire. It now has close to 11,000 miles on it. I checked the tire tread and depth at the 50K mile service interval. Sure enough tread depth diminished 50% from 10/32 to 5/32 and the shoulders are cupped. This is the third tire and the first and second tires didn't cup near to this level. Could be any number of causes.
Do you spend most of the time riding in the right side of the lane? The lane will have a crest in the center and riding on the right side all the time can wear the left side more leaving a sharper edge on right side. This may ride strange when leaning into a right hand turn.
