Default So I buy a 2014 Ultra

Went "looking" at all the hype about the 2014's. Bought a Candy Orange Ultra. This is where it gets real weird. Took a little while to get everything done at the dealership, no big deal. Now, my plan was to go look, ride home and mow the lawn, then take an afternoon ride. Get home later than I wanted to, so I park the new scoot in the garage, fill up the mower and start cutting. After about 30 minutes in back I come around to the front and there is a STRONG ODOR of gas somewhere. I think maybe I didn't put the cap on the can, so I look in the garage and under the Ultra is a massive fuel spill. So, quickly I jump on the bike to back it out (wait for it), foot slips on the gas, tips the bike over. Get it up and try to find the leak. It is now 5:45 and the dealership closes at 6. So I call and the service manager comes out, we look, he says it looks like on of the fuel injectors isn't seated. So, he takes the bike back to the dealership. SO! Cant give much of a report on the 2014, but in the short ride home I can tell you it has lots more power than the 2013, and absolutely NO buffeting. More to follow once I get it back.

Congrats on the new bike, I hope they get it fixed quickly. I have to ask, why was you mowing when you had a new bike in your possession?

Sorry to hear about your problem and Congrats on the 2014. I talked to one of the regulars at my Dealers today and he bought one when they hit they floor and says they have a lot more torque than the 2013. He is a retired race car driver and is pretty savvy about motors.

I think a lot of people with 2014's say it has a 'ton' more torque because they are trying to justify their purchase. Of course, people with Pre 14's will say it doesn't because they are trying to justify not getting one. I seriously doubt there is any serious difference between the two. Obviously the different CAM's will make a difference but that is easily changeable in a Pre-2014 as well. Match cam for cam 2014 vs earlier models and I bet there is little difference.

Landers in Little Rock always treated me pretty good, hopefully they'll fix you up.

A fuel leak already on a brand spanking new over $20K 2014 Ultra!!! That is not good news, seems like Harley's QA should have caught this...

No scratches, no dings. Was trying to get it back up fast because now I am standing in fuel. Funny once it's all over. Not even really upset about the fuel leak, these things happen. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and see it all the time with new equipment. One thing I can say about the 2014 Ultra, that sumbitch is HEAVY!
