Default Vented lowers with SE heavy breather?

The catalog says the vented lowers wont fit with the SE Heavy breather.
Has anybody modified the right side lower's glove box to make it fit?
Are the glove boxes removable?
I'm not going to replace the standard heavy breather with the short version so please dont suggest that.
I have the non vented lowers now but they are just too hot to leave on in the summer.

They make a shorter version of the heavy breather that fits with vented lowers, but not with speakers. Yeah, it's close

I appreciate any help I get on the forum, but so far the only answer to my question has been to suggest exactly the solution I said I wasnt interested in.
I guess this isnt a common enough problem.

You could probably McGruber it up to fit, but will probably look horrible and affect your airflow.

Let us know when you figure it out Mcguyver.
I have the HB compact on mine and it works just fine and I didnt have to bugger up my lowers.

What exactly is your reluctance to using the compact? I'm guessing it's the money.

I know the standard Heavy Breather won't clear the gloveboxes. If I remember correctly, the gloveboxes are removable, but I can't remember 100% for certain. I had the original Heavy Breather as well, but wanted to add the vented lowers, so I sold my Heavy Breather. Then later decided to sell the lowers and go with a different style of engine guard, and intake. The short filter Heavy Breather wasn't available when I bought mine, so that wasn't an option. But regardless, I don't like the short version anyways, just doesn't look right to me.

i think you'll find the wording in the parts catalogue says it won't fit with vented lowers with glove boxes. Remove the right hand glove box.

Ok, so I wondered the same thing. A buddy of mine is probably going to be trading in his street glide for a 14 ultra of some combination and he has the lower fairings and tour pack. So I will probably scoop up the lower fairings and tour pack, get the painted to match and then install them. However, I also have the SE heavy breather and was thinking I would have to change my filter out to allow it to fit so I looked it up and this is what it says. Fits ’11-’12 FLSTSE2/3, ’13 FXSBSE and ’08-later Touring models. Does not fit models equipped with fairing lower glove boxes or fairing lower speakers. Street legal when used with Original Equipment throttle body. So I am thinking if you remove the glove box...it will fit

It might fit but will it get the air it requires? My dealer said don't do it..

I dont want to use the compact filter because, 1) I already have the standard version and dont want to buy a new one, 2) dont like the look of the shorter one 3) you cant get the edge cut filter cover like I have already in a compact version.

I dont think air flow is a problem, they are not ram air design, the end of the filter is solid anyway. I have unvented lowers and the filter is partially blocked by them as you can see in the picture and it is not a problem.

Is the whole glove box assembly removable or just the doors?
