2800 miles of unpampered riding, all good, handles the twisty's like its on rails, where I could ride them thru at 80 is now 85-90 easily.

Now the EITMS is activated when the ambient tempature is above 80 degrees. It's all about keeping the heat off the rider. So it does not matter what the engine temps are, if the air temps are above 80 degrees, activate EITMS to help retard heat form getting to the rider.
In other words don't wait till the engine is hot to start minimizing rear cylinder heat.
Got this from a phone call to HD headquarters vai local dealer about my 2014 limited. I'm assuming it applies to all 2014 touring models.
Do you think you might have got confused on that? It does not make sense to activate the EITMS (rear cylinder cutout) when the ambient temp gets to 80. It makes way more sense to have it cut in when the sensor gets to 275 degrees like Fuel Moto says.

Every time the temp is above 80 deg. my EITMS kicks on when the bike is stopped.

The EITMS on my 14 FLHTK hasn't come on except when the ambient temp has been above 80 degrees. It doesn't appear to matter what the engine temp is. In fact I was able to trick the bike into thinking that the ambient temp was above 80 by placing the temp sensor on top of the front rocker box on a day when the actual temps were in the low 70's. The EITMS would activate at every stoplight.

I remember my 2010 limited, son in laws 2012 FLHTK and 2013 Road Glide all activated the EITMS every time you stopped after warmed up for the first 1000 miles. Changed to Synthetic oil and problem greatly improved. Put tuners on all of them and no more EITMS unless setting in 90+ degree stop and go traffic. I monitor mine and it has been to 270 degrees once while sitting in road construction traffic stop.

Just exactly which temp sensor did you put on top of your rocker box. If your bike is activating from 80 degrees ambient you need to get the thing checked. It is in warranty isn't it.

The '14 Limited has a small white temp sensor on the left side of the frame neck that I let lay on top of the rocker box. I think it is a different setup than what was on my '09 Ultra. As I said before, the EITMS comes on when it senses ambient temps above 80 verses the way it activated on the '09, which was dependent on engine temp.

There is nothing wrong with the bike. You should only take it to be fixed if the EITMS doesn't activate when the ambient temp is above 80 deg.

New Power Vision firmware and software went live yesterday, it can be updated via PV update client. This now includes 2014 FLH support. The tune database has not yet been updated for the 14 FLH models, however both Dynojet & Fuel Moto have a good assortment of maps which are available upon request.
