Default Old map new tuner

Can I install a New PC III if my bike already has a map downloaded from another tuner?

My bike is running like $#&! so I took it to the Harley shop. They said that a map had already been loaded, but I didn't have the module. They said I would have to buy a new tuner to get rid of the popping and other running problems before they could do anything with it.

So my question is: With out the old tuner module, can I just buy a new PC III and install, download their map and be fine?

The new map will overwrite the old one but if your using a canned map you may still have issues..you feel lucky?

What's the alternative? Get the map back to original first?

any idea what map was installed and with what tuning device?

if it's just a stage 1 HD download, go for it with the PC III but you'll need to tweak that as well. DynoJet might have something for you to download for your mods...

Is your bike stock, Stage 1 or more mods?

If its stock or Stage 1 you can pay the 150 and have HD flash it to a HD Dealer approved download and it will run, still lean and EPA compliant or you can try a PC III for your bike since it is a 2005 and a canned MAP, if you go this way do yourself a favor and buy from Fuel Moto so you have their support and huge library of MAPs.

Or if it was me Id get a Power Vision from Fuel Moto and flash the ECM to whatever you need back to stock, a canned MAP and then data log to self tune.

Vance and Hines original Oval slip-ons, and Stage one air with K & N filter. I did order the Fuel Moto PC III and I believe it will come pre-mapped for my bike?

should be good to go with a stage 1 download only. still might take a little tweaking but that's the benefit of dealing with FM.. they'll help you get it right

do they still do the download without a tuner, as in the HD street or race. I thought I read that downloads are now through the street tuner which you have to buy
