Default Need more information on 2014 GPS navigation

There are couple of questions about 2014 GPS Navigation:

1) Is GPS an add-on feature on top of buying 6.5 inch touch screen option.

2) Who supplies the maps for Harley 2014 bikes, is there functionality to update custom routes and tracks like in Garmin. I am used to basecamp and or gmaptogpx option for garmin. I plan all my routes in advance so when I am ready to ride I do not have to worry about the GPS.

3) Is there expanded storage for the unit. If you are going to keep this bike for a long time there would be routes and tracks that you have on it that you need to upload or download or just plain move around. can that be done?

Any ideas or additional information out there ... did not see much on this anywhere.

Straight from the HD website:

Ready For Your Upgrades
The new Boom!™ Box 6.5GT was built with your personal touches in mind. You can integrate P & A satellite radio right into the vehicle radio with no external mounting and control it through the hand controls. Additional satellite services such as weather and traffic can be added and overplayed on the GPS maps. You can even download map upgrades and additional functions. The only question is, how far do you want to go?

From that ambiguous statement I glean that GPS is standard and that updates may be added through the USB connector.

That is ambiguous, because even newer cars say that maps can be updated via SD/USB ports. Usually they are pointing to the yearly map update that they want to sell you for $60. Depends who the mapping software belongs to. Who makes Boom Box do we know?

No info yet as to the manufacture. I'm real interested myself. I'm not going to pull the trigger this year and give them a year to work the bugs out. On my Volvo's I got the first two map updates for free and have to pay from there on out. Lease is up on one in March so I'm not paying for anything.

Cool

It's quite simple, you just ride your bike into the study, so you can download your routes from your desktop.......

Sirius supplies the XM Radio & the 90 day free subscription is standard for all automotive applications. The GPS system has to be someone else and it matters who it is .. I am intrested to find out from those who already picked up their MC and can share..

Crazy and unproven thought but what if the GPS needs to be connected to your cell phone. Going to rack up spme nice roaming charges if you travel... especially if you go out of country... As I said just a thought.

Its a $800 dollar option if your bike does not come equiped with Boom Box 6.5, I highly doubt it would use your data plan to work the GPS. It is strange that the bikes are already out and there is absolutely no information about the unit on the HD site. How can someone program, troubleshoot the unit. I want to say that the unit might be like a Car GPS takes you from point A to point B with POI along the way with exit service. I doubt you can pick and choose the back roads you want and occasional unpaved road you might want to take.. just saying since I have yet to find anything on HD site.
