RKC with Street Glide Wheels and hard bags. Best of both!

I like the badging on the RKC much more than the RK, and my RK has ABS and cruise so that was not even a consideration. But, I really wanted alloy wheels and hard bags so that won me over to the RK.

And it was prolly done for much less than a CVO. And more of the owners taste. The 110" and extra bling don't mean a hill of beans to me. I was perfectly happy with my 103" and much prefer contrast cut over a bunch of chrome. Thinking this is the way I will go. Wait about 4-5 years and buy a 2012-2013 RK and do it up like that. Prolly do it all for less than $2.5k buying used take-off parts. And by that time a used low miles RK should be able to be had for around $10-$12k max.

Also, wouldnt the standard RK w/ 4-point system have the same issue?!
I was referring to a RKC with leather bags, they can and do hit the docking station when you open them. HD sells a kit as a fix but it leaves much to be desired.

Probably not. I onced priced out just the chrome of a CVO upper and lower controls and it seems like that alone was around $5000. Add the stretch bags, custom wheels, and chromless fenders and it gets pretty pricey. But man it will be a good looking bike.

Without a shield I get clean air to the head and chest but that obviously puts a strain on my neck as well. I would like to try lowers on a RK but don't wanna spend that coin id they don't do much to help. I know even with my Ultra Classic with lowers I still got the choppy air coming up between the lowers and fairing. And at my height it hit me right in the neck.
You might give the fork mounted wind deflectors a shot. I think they help quite a bit. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...20-57400146--1

Very happy with the classic. I like the leather, and once I added up the price to add all the options to the standard road king it was no contest.

I might consider those now. I would have never put them on a fairing bike. But they don't look that bad on a RK. Food for thought.
