Default JRI B -12" vs 13"

Im about to order a set of JRI shocks for my 09 UC, im stuck on the size 12 or 13.. Wife and I generally ride the bike on trips, not often under 300 miles at a time.

Id like the lowered look of the 12, but not sure on the difference in ride quality. Will it bottom out? Will it be lower than a stock street glide with 12" oem shocks?

I know the difference is merely .62" higher for the 13" vs the 12"..

Im also hearing that the 13" is lower than what is on the bike oem..How much??

Does anyone wish they would have bought the 12" vs 13" or vica versa... and why??

Thanks for any help... hate to order the wrong shock for this kind of $$!

With the sag set properly on the 13", the ride is lower than stock 13" shocks with recommended air pressure set. Height is one factor. Shock travel is the other. Obviously the 12" shock has less travel than the 13" so properly set up, you could run into bottoming issue you wouldn't have with the 13".

Whatever length you buy, phone Howard of HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. He will give you the lowdown on both options and give you the info to help you decide, as well as a discount. I have his Ohlins and talking through things with him chose stock 13" shocks.

You will be buying custom-built top shelf shocks, set up for you and your wife. They will not bottom out, if my experience is anything to go by.

I run the 12" JRi B's , more travel (13" shocks) will always ride better , however the 12" B's have a 77mm stroke which is the same as the 13" Ohlins #3-#3 which many guys use and love and I had before , and the JRi B's 12" ride as nice or slightly better than the Ohlins #3-#3 so I don't think you can go wrong either way but the 13" will be the most comfortable

Let us know how it works out for you. Can't go wrong with more ground clearance and travel.
grbrown's advice is sound. When it comes to shocks Howard knows the right questions to ask and what direction to steer you.
