Well it's time to change fork oil again, the rumor i here is to use transmission oil, has any one else tried this and does it work good. I am just checkin, what do you guys use, thanks.
Fork oil only. Any good quality fork specific oil should do nicely. I went one grade higher (thicker) to help stiffen up the typically mushy front dampening.
I use Amsoil Shock Therapy. I went with the medium weight, but next time I may try the heavy weight. The medium is fine, I just notice slightly more diving than before . But the front end is much softer over bumps now, and I like that a lot.

low joe, i gotta tell you that your bike has got to be the best looking scoot i've seen around in a long time. every time i look at it i see something new. nice bike.
I went with Bel Ray Fork Oil 15wt and it was night and day difference from stock. Not too heavy and not too mushy, just right.
I believe that Screamin' Eagle Fork Oil is also 15 wt. Running that oil eliminates the need for me to worry about the air settings ( on my 2000 front end.)
I like it, soft enough and a very controlled dive when necessary.

HH..thanks. Well, you know how it is, always something to add or some project to undertake. My latest was adding a 4 channel 500 watt audio amp in the tour pak...and of course new speakers in the faring and pods.
ATF: inexpensive and works very well, but you have to like 15 wt. because all ATF is generally 15 wt.
Personally I use 10 wt. and add a couple of ounces to help control fork dive. Bel Ray or Maxima have worked very well at 11 oz per leg.
Once you start with a specific brand stay with that brand if you're going to experiment with different levels and weights as there are no across the board viscosity standards for fork oils.
