I took a survey on here a while ago re Jack mishaps. There was no relationship to jack type. There was a tight relationship to user error. Most mishaps were from not setting the locking mechanism.
I have the yellow HF. Hated going imported, but $70 and I've never heard of the things failing in a way that hurt anyone or anything.

i use the cheap one from harbor freight..70 bucs or so..have been using it for years the only drawback is when you let the bike down you have to push the release all the way down quick like..the first position is the fast and the second is the slow,, thats backwards but after i got used to it everything works great,,,

I think he added that after, not that that's a problem.
