Road King Auxiliary light switch bad?
I just got a 2007 Road King classic and just noticed today that the left auxiliary light was on even though the switch was off. The right one will turn on and off with the switch, but the left one is stuck on regardless of the switch position. Can i assume just the switch itself went bad? If so, are these easy to replace? I was looking through my shop manual and didn't see info on how to remove and replace the switches. Any ideas or input? Thanks!

If you are comfortable with simple wiring, a soldering iron, spade connectors, etc... Then it's pretty easy.

Some one has changed the wiring on your bike. The left switch is the accessary switch that has nothing connected to it from the factory and the right switch controls both passing lamps. Both passing lamps should burn in low beam with the switch flipped up and go out on high beam. Most folks wire the passing lamps to the wire feeding the accessary switch so they stay on when in high beam. You can remove the head light bucket and get to the wiring and switches.

[QUOTE=Staynce;18990326]Would you please go into more detail about the replacement? How they are mounted , what has to be removed to access them? Thank you in advance
My bike is older and may not apply
First ! Put a towel on the fender!!!
Remove headlight trim ring
" headlamp and bucket
remove top trim piece
remove fork lock trim piece
take off the acorn nuts that hold
the passing lamp light bar if you have one, and rest it on the towel allows the wires to remain connected
Remove the clip at bottom front of nacelle
separate nacelle “halves”
The switch has a rubber cover that comes off giving access to a thin threaded ring
I suggest that while it’s apart to make repairs on R.H. Switch that you add “reachable” wires from L.H. Switch for future additions
