Clearview recurve windshields???

Clearview recurve windshields???
Just wondering if these things work as advertised. I currently have a 8" smoke and it is just the right height. Well I just bought a Mustang Daytripper seat and now I sit almost 2" lower. So I am looking right through the wndshield. Which obviously will not work at night. I am considering getting the 6" Clearview with recurve because if it does what it says it will be just like having an 8". Or should I just go with a standard 6" to be about where I was before.
Anyone do a side by side riding comparison of one with and one w/o the recurve???

RE: Clearview recurve windshields???
I have an 8" Clearview with recurve AND a Mustang Daytripper seat. GREAT seat btw huh? Even though it is extremely low profile and frames a SG perfectly, it is very comfortable. My favorite seat. I'm 6' tall and still look over my Clearview with the Daytripper on my SG. I do believe it aids with wind protection and turbulence control, but I've lost interest in the look of the recurve That of course is just my taste. I've got just about every size windshield made except for the stock 12" EG ones. The only windshield I have tried that 100% works as advertised is the Cee Bailey SSC (13") in my case. I really only use it though on real windy days or long trips. I just recieved 2 new Cee Bailey standard windshields, a 7" and a 9". The 7" is opaque black and 9" is light smoke. The quality is the best of any windshield I own, and VERYaffordable when you don't go the SSC route. I got two of them for $100 I'm not sure a 6" Clearview would add any considerable increase in protection based on my 6" Cee Bailey SSC. No where close to the kind of protection I get from the taller SSC. On another note, while I appreciate and believe they give outstanding service, I'll not be using any more windshields that aren't preformed. I believe they add to much stress to the fairing when they to be bent in place.

RE: Clearview recurve windshields???
I have a 6 in black recurve from Clearview and I love it. I'm 5'11 and the stock windshield on my 06 Street Glide caused the wind to hit me right under my glasses. I wanted a little more protection, but I didn't want to change the look of the faring too dramatically and I think I accomplished that. Also, I wasn't sure before I bought it either so I went to their clearance section and found one with a blemish that was super inexpensive so I bought it and figured I wouldn't be out a lot of cash if I didn't like it. Turned out the blemish is on the inside and barely above the lip of the faring so you can't even see it and the shield is still on my bike.
