I was told by an old school Harley enthusiast to run Crisco vegetable oil in my primary. I thought if vegetable oil was so good wouldn't a high quality peanut oil be better?

Why hell yes. Why not just throw in a couple of french fries as well.
I don't think Crisco is best for our bikes, I always use Wesson and feel it is the best.

That's funny...betcha if you were to do an analysis of Formula+ it wouldn't be too far from it. In fact I'm willing to bet its a diesel motor oil similar to Shell Rotella.

It may work, it makes all kinds of stuff slippery in a "hot tub".

I could not resist. I have been so caught up in the great oil debate I needed a break.

It's funny how we worry about the oil in our bike so much. I have found oil threads that started in 1903.

Well guys have fun and now that you mention Wesson, I think we should get the friction machine out an test them.

yea, that old school harley guy probably drank hair tonic and after-shave when he was hard up too. that KY lubricating liquid should work just fine also.

Please don't put Rotella in the same category as HD formula +, it's better and less expensive.

Reminds me of the movie with Kelsey Grammar where he was a submarine captain and was trying to out run another(Down Periscope I think). The old Chief Mechanic puts whiskey in the engine oil tank and says he gets 25 rpm extra
