Same tire and wheel combo as what came on the '12 SG. Looks better and handles better than the slugs that comes factory on the Ultras. And no difference in ride height either.

Looks to me like the 12 SG has a 130/70-18. And the overall height is about 25". This leaves a sidewall height of about 3.5". And the 08 SG has a 180/65-16 with about 25.5" overall height. Change the wheel to 19" and reduce the sidewall height to 3". So maybe something like a 120/65-19?

130/60- 19 stock tire for the CVO bikes. Mine rides just fine.

'12 CVO SG was what I meant. Anyhow none if this actually helps the OP. What would've helped him more would've been a knowledgeable person behind the parts counter at the stealership. Finding this more and more where the guy behind the counter knows less about your bike than your OL. If it were me I'd take it back because I wasn't satisfied with the look. Dealer may balk on you but it's worth a shot.

Hell, it didn't even click with me when I ordered the rotor's that I wouldn't see alot. So I guess the best thing to do to salvage this is remove the brake compo from atleat one side.
Most of us who have gone to a single side front brake on the touring bikes have also swapped out for a six piston brake caliper (PM, Jay Brake, HHI, etc)

What if you take the wrong side off? Have you lost 80% of your stopping power? Which side is the 80% and which side is the 20% ?

I did this on my old bike (09 FLHX) I will will never do it again UNLESS I go 6 piston caliper and 13" rotor. You lose a lot of braking power and I regretted it from day 1.

Mike is right. Go with a six piston caliper and 13" floating rotor and you will retain most of your braking power, and it looks so much better.


But as usual. Better = Mo $$$........

I wouldn't give up 1% of my front braking so I could see a shiny wheel. Collision avoidance is alot higher on my list of priorities. I don't know this but maybe if you went to a large brembo caliper and rotor you wouldn't lose anything and still get the result you want.
