Don't know exactly what is missing on the lock but I had the same thing happen to me and all needed was the little cam do dad inside the latch and a spring. The cost was not much, maybe $ 10.00 from Harley.

The parts needed for the repair are less than $5.00 total
direct from harley just stop in your dealer.
90682-93 CAM HOOK 3.99
7608 NUT 0.99

Look at the other side and compare them to see if you need anything else.

Like said just go to the dealer and buy the parts, mine did the samething and just replaced the lost parts.
