Default Shifted it like a metric all the way home!

I had the Heel shifter linkage fall off yesterday. I have heard others with this happening. I had no indication it was loose. I was lucky that it fell off on a road that was not busy and was able to go back and find it. I was lucky enough to be able to get my foot under the toe linkage and shift it like a metric all the way home. Posting to remind others make sure theirs are tight. I will probably adjust the to shift up a step to be able to toe shift easier if I need to.

Metric? I prefer to use my toe. It's very uplifting. Besides, I can better pre-load with my toe than my heel.

I use it. My Road king didn't have one when I bought it and had to add it.

I have a heel shifter on my FLHXSE but dont use it. I ride my other two bikes from time to time and it is just easier to always shift with my toe. It isn't a metric thing. My 1980 FXWG and my 2003 FXST dont have heel shifters.

There are several threads concerning "who uses" and "why do you use" heel shifters.
