No chain needed here. I have the 640 cam at 10.8., my motor isn't getting it on until 3k rpm and i Dont think I will be breaking any belts since no big hit off idle. It's kind of nice climbing the Sierra mountains on hwy 80 in 6th gear with power on tap, 2 up loaded with gear, 80+ mph and plenty on tap motor cruising easily.

I can see how the 2500 tq hit could break stuff if you pound it. Lots of strain on the rear hub too I suppose. I almost went with the 585 and lower compression, but like the top end power.
