yeah I prefer not to hear music when I ride, the motor is all the music I need. How's the bike run any issues with pinging or the valves getting louder, your at the right mileage when they start or already started?
I havent noticed much difference. It runs good with no issues. 70-80mph to sturgis and back no problems between 39-42 mpg 2 up with baggage, depending on headwinds and how many times I had to cob on it to pass I guess
I also have a 2013 RK with 2000 miles on it. going to ride it to riudoso, Nm next month, along with already having an arkansas trip on it. i have the scala radios and listen to tunes, my wife and even the phone on occasion....but mainly, just the motor and traveling noises...
Several asked me why i didn't buy a road glide, street glide or even an ultra...I like the rkc, what can i say!
I just picked up a new to me RG yesterday, I `ve been riding a RK. The po was showing me all about the cb and radio and I told him I doubt I ever turn it on.
Love my Road King. Don't like fairings and don't like big boxes hangin' off the back end either. Don't miss the music that I had on my Electra Glide either. Love the King.
I have a 09 RK and put on an after market fairing. I installed a radio to fill up the hole and to make it marketable when I sell it. The radio does not have an amp so it sounds poor. Still, as most seem to agree, when on the open road, the sound of the engine is all I need. I do listen to radio when I am stuck in traffic when I commute with the bike.
I've ridden a lot more miles without music than with. I never missed a radio when I didn't have one, but I know I would miss it now if I didn't have it.
