Default Bike Stand

I just wanted to share an idea that I have not seen in any catalogs. When I have the bike in the garage I like for it to be in the upright position to work on or clean. I looked for somthing and found the "Center Stand Lift" that lifts either the front or back wheel and like the way it works but I wanted both wheels on the ground 90% of the time.

This is what I made for those times:

I made it adjustable by using the 2 bolts with locking nuts, the rubber hose is to protect the frame and help keep it from sliding.

I use my center stand lift to raise the frame just enough to slide it in place with my foot and it stands the bike upright and is very solid when you get it adjusted to where it just takes the weight off the suspension a little.

This is just somthing that works well for me and I thought I would share it. I welded it up using scrape steel in about 20 minutes.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Looks awesome! I went to Lowe's to buy some of that "scrape" steel and the guy looked at me funny and said that they didn't carry it. Still looking for it, might check Home Depot. Just kidding couldn't resist. Great idea Mike. Thanks for sharing.

For those folks that are not very handy with metal work, here is a link for a stand (for a Road Star that probably could be adapted for a Harley) that can be made from lumber.

Here is another more stable steel version. I have 2 of these myself and have 2 neighbors that purchased one for their Ultra Classic and FatBoy;

I use a Harbor Frieght dolly for times when I want both wheels of the ground. I like the little stand above just to keep the bike upright when being stored or when working on it. It takes up less room in the garage. Also being abjustable lets me use it on bikes with different frame hights.

Ride Safe,

Mike
