Default Black exhaust?

Short of spending an arm and a leg, have any of you had your stock heat shields and slip ons ceramic coated?

I'm planning on doing that, but I just wanted to get some opinions. I just bought a second hand pair of demons cycle rinehart knock offs to go with a pair of stock heat shields I picked up on eBay. I was quoted at $150 to ceramic coat the whole set up, does that sound like a fair price? I don't want to be a sucker, and I like the stock performance of my street glide just fine......

Any help would be APPRECIATED!

autozone will have a heat resistant black matte exhaust paint.

so $10.

the ceramic coating will look better for longer.

15 times better ?, maybe

Yup. I think the price is a bit steep (had my heatshields and headpipe coated on my Limited a few years ago for $100. I love the way black exhausts look, but they do get boogered up easily. Depending on your mileage and riding conditions, you'll probably want to re-coat them after a year or two. You can get decent results from a rattle can, but obviously not with ceramic coating's thermal benefits.

Powdercoat the things. $30 each piece will cover it at most any good powdercoater.
