103 cams,cams, and more cams
#22
I used to run a 103/SE204 in my bike before I built it to 107 with TW8 cams. It didn't make as much power, naturally, but it made enough, and was perfect for a daily rider type of bike. Not too loud, not too hot, not too fussy. 204s do have more of a hot rod idle than almost any other bolt in cam. They're still hard to beat as a drop in cam for the 103 motors, and I'd run that combination again, any day.

Not that I'm a mechanic, do the head work and cams at the same time. Otherwise you might have to use adjustable push rods which some people don't like. I put 27,000 miles on a set with no issues. Do the cam and headwork at the same time and only do one dyno tune. You might even be able to justify a 107 kit from fuel moto is you want.
