It's located on the steering neck. I replaced mine with OTG.

Yup, that's what I did. Bye bye ambient air temp gauge and fuel gauge...hello tweeters! I use my range function on the odometer as my gas gauge. I get about 230 per tank so I just roughly figure every 50 is a quarter of a tank. For example, 150 on the range means 3/4's of a tank. Working great for me.

I removed the air temp gage on my 2000 Ultra and replaced it with a compass.
The actual compass mounts under the RH saddlebag and once you get it calibrated it's pretty accurate.

Thanks,

I would be interesting in finding an analog clock to plug in there too. I know Dakota Digital has one, but it is digital and analog would fit into the flow of existing gauges better.

Don't need no air temp gauge to tell it's hot. I replaced it with a oil temp gauge too.

Thanks for all of the responses, that pretty much settles it, it's useless and there are better functional items that can take its place.

Mine kept reading 80 when it was 70 out, then I remembered the amp I added gives off heat in the faring. Plucked out the air gauge and plopped in an oil one. I'm not so confused now.
