Default Street Glide Upgrade Ideas

I just got my new Street Glide and Black Cherry and am looking for upgrade ideas. I am having the XM radio installed and going with Hogtunes speakers. I am considering Rinehart straight pipes but am concerned about being too noisy to hear the stereo. What does everyone think? Also looking for any other upgrade ideas.[IMG][/IMG]

Congrats on the new street glide. I really like that new model. Matter of fact I was showing my best friend a picture of the street glide. The next following weekend he took his fatboy down to harley to put up for sale and order a 2006 street glide. Go figure. As far as straight pipes I'm a one of those that agree with "LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES". I run straight pipes on my shovel and are very loud. I"ve heard the reinhart true duals on a rk this last weekend. Wow they sound very nice. Not loud but LOUD enough. Straights might be a bit to much if your running a radio. I have the basoni's on my EG and love em. There mellow but when you crack that throttle I am heard. No problems listening to the radio yet. But I hear the reinhart sound good to for listening to a radio. Good luck on your choice.

I have the EG Standard, the XM Radio, Hogtunes, and Rineharts. I can hear everything just fine up to about 85mph...haven't tested it above that speed.

Been thinking about that windshield that is wider than stock to see if it improves the sound @ 85+. I'm surprised you can hear anything over 65mph with the shorty windshield, but it looks cool.

I love your new bike , I have a electra glide classic that strips down in under a minute to get that cleaner look. The best upgrades that i have done are
1. HOGTUNES !!!! best 100.00 you will spend
2. Stage II 95 inch Big bore kit about 1500.00 makes a big diffrence on hills with us baggers and it will suprise a few riders

I just picked up a Black Cherry last week. Going to do the air cleaner upgarade and pipes. Also ordering a back rest and luggage rack. The low windshield looks cool, but is causing a lot of helmet buffeting at about 45 - 50 mph+. Swapped to a HD 9" and that eliminated most of the problem. I saw the clearview shield recommended on another post. Talked to them today and it sounds like the 9 and a half inch shiled with the curve on top may me the answer. Anyone else have the w/s problem and find a solution.

Other than that it's a great bike, i think I'm going to put some miles on before I do the pipes.

Hello, I have a vivid black street glide and love it. I am also getting helmet buffeting over 60mph and am going with a higher shield also. I find the rear shocks to be very rough riding and am concidering going with some progressive shocks. I just added the smoked lens kit and it looks kewl.

Update:

I installed the Rinehart pipes, Hogtunes speakers, XM radio, 9" windshield, and garage door opener (integrated into the hi/lo beam switch).

The best money I ever spent!! Pipes are unbelievable, 9" windshield makes a huge difference with both wind and ability to hear the radio, hogtunes are great. I love the XM radio, but it does have a tendency to cut in and out on roads with many trees.

Next I am considering a better seat, chrome front wheel, and chrome fork sliders and calipers. Any more suggestions?
