Bike is in shop! - rattle in Primary or Tranmission
#32
Not all make the noise and so therefore mine shouldn't.
I have still have or have owned the following and none rattled like this.
99 FXR2
95 Badboy
2005 Ultra
2008 Ultra
Maybe they will put in a Baker DD6 for me.

I have a slight run out of the sprockets in the primary (about .002) and 40K of primary chain wear (makes chain have not all same length between sprocket) Mine has a manual adjuster and if you roll the wheel you can get a little difference in chain slop. The sprocket is always indexing the chain, so its random how it stays. When I load it up, my sound (as you described) goes away. Just my thought. And mine is loud. If I had a new bike that sounded like mine, it would drive me crazy

I'm not sure if this is same or similar, but I have a new '13 Ultra with 300 miles on it and just started hearing rattling which goes away when I pull in the clutch. I brought it to the dealer today expecting them to say it is normal and they listened and said to leave it. I'm not happy to say the least.
