Default 35w or 55w hid help please.

Found an awesome kit I'm going with and it's offered in 35w or 55w. What to go with? Ay experience with both wattages on here?

55w runs hot and doesn't last as long. The 35w really is the way to go. That's just my opinion though. Take it for what it's worth.

I put a higher wattage bulb on my 98 DWG and it melted the bulb socket inside the headlight housing....save yourself some aggravation and keep it the way it came.

I think you'll find the 35 watt more then enough light for you.

I have the 35/55 and the 55 on hi beam is not that much of a difference. As far as heat goes I think you guys are thinking of halogen bulbs running hotter than an HID. Ive had them going on 3 years with no issues.
