Engine Light Appeared + Bike Died...Help!!
OK, so yesterday I was in this memorial run and showed up to the meeting place and parked my bike; everything was good. Half hour later we all mount up and i realize i left my ignition on. Well i went to start and got the "clicks" (mind u i just installed this odessy battery two days prior), So all bike leave and I had to get a jump from a car. Car was turned off during the jump; bike started and we caught up to the group. I then notice my engine light turning on and off then eventually staying on. During this period I notice the bike backfiring more than usual as well as instruments going haywire. I pull into the first stop about 50 miles away from the starting spot and bike stalls out and will not start back up. Fuel pump wouldn't kick on when ignition was turned over and nothing from the start button... All fuses checked out, didn't see any burnt wires, and now a day later the fuel pump kicks on but start button still does nothing... 2001 FLHR/I Road King with an after market power commander that may also be the issue... any help is appreciated!

a dead battery can very possibly overstress your charging system and kill it dead...
the charging system is not just maintaining the bike running and lights, but the dead battery is now a load on the alternator and regulator.
It can be smarter to have a bike towed than to jump it if the charging system is at risk $$$
I have had 2 very expensive odessey batteries die on the road with no warning...the first one I bought and went internally open, the 2nd was the warranty replacement and went internal short while the bike was parked in the garage!
I cut the cables with bolt cutters and threw it out on the driveway where it bubbled and smoked.
so lesson learned.
neither of the odessey batteries lasted longer than 4 months
the vendor applied my refund to an AGM type battery
